The mass shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas took more than 26 lives and 20 people injured. It was an unforeseen circumstance that greatly saddened everyone for it is said to be the worst massacre in a place of worship for the first time in the modern history of the United States.

Pastor Frank Pomeroy and his wife Sherri faced the media aftermath the tragedy and released an emotional statement to the press conference. They deeply grieve for the church members who passed away because for them they were not just simply churchgoers, they were a very close family.

“We ate together, we laugh together, we cry together and we worship together,” says the Pastor’s wife Sherri who also lost their daughter in church shooting.

“Christ is the one Who’s gonna be lifted up,” Pastor Frank added before they left the press conference.

This is a disheartening incident but as what the Texas Church Pastor said, you lean into the Lord for what you don’t understand, even when you think it doesn’t make any sense.

I praise God for their full public statement to the press conference. It only reveals their hearts’ faithfulness to God. They are a great example of how a faithful Christian responds to difficulties in life.

Let’s continue to pray and may the strength of the Lord be upon them.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” -Proverbs 3:5-6
