Nothing is as beautiful as a love that is true. This is what bride Elizabeth tried to show her groom Scott on their wedding day–that she deeply loves him despite his flaw. When Elizabeth first met Scott, she found out that he was deaf since he was 5 years old.
But that didn’t stop her from falling for him. They started dating and when their love blossomed further, Scott decided to propose to Elizabeth. She unhesitatingly said “yes!” They were excited for their big day. And while they did plan together the whole event, Elizabeth hid something from her soon-to-be husband.
She wanted to surprise Scott with something very special on their wedding day. But in order to accomplish it, Elizabeth had to learn her fiance’s language, which is sign language. So without telling Scott about her plan, she expanded her sign language knowledge three weeks before their wedding.
She did it while going through the whirlwinds of wedding planning. But it was all worth it in the end because when the big day arrived, Elizabeth made Scott cry with her heartwarming gesture.
As Elizabeth appeared through the double doors, everyone’s attention turned to her. She was without a doubt a beautiful bride. She even became more beautiful when she did her surprise. Before walking her way down the aisle, she stopped and signed in Auslan the lyrics to Christina Perri’s hit song “A Thousand Years.”
Everyone watched her especially Scott who had no idea what was going on. But when it finally dawned on him what his bride was doing, he just burst into tears. Everyone was completely moved by Elizabeth’s grand entrance.
“For every joy he has brought into my life over the last two years, I wanted to surprise him with my entrance. I won’t lie, I was terrified before walking into the ceremony. But the moment I locked eyes with him I never looked away and it was a special moment just between the two of us. He held it together for a few seconds before crying the whole way through the song.”
Elizabeth said that Scott really loved her surprise and had watched the video at least 100 times.
“Even though Scott is deaf, I have never felt more heard in my life.”
This is one love story that is worth sharing to everyone! May Elizabeth and Scott’s love for each other inspire us to only show genuine love at all times.
